Well folks, we arrived in PA on 6-14-10, around 9:00 pm, after 8 hours on the road. We had some rain and some traffic, but overall, we had a pretty nice drive. We used our OnStar to guide us to our motel, which upon arrival, looked like the Bates Motel . . . . we quickly cancelled our reservations and went on down the road to a Country Inn and Suites, and ended up getting a suite for the same price that we would have paid @ The Bates ---- God is Good :) We met up with Matthew Dodd, Dan's University room mate from the early 70's. Matt is a life long educator and local entertainer. He performs historical accounts via music and storytelling. We were able to attend 2 of his amazing shows: The Life of a 1700's Sailor, and The Old Canal Days. How many of you know what a Canal Boat is? I had no idea, so I have learned a lot of history!! Matt also pointed out 3 Mile Island to us on our way to Hershey, PA. For this chocoholic, Hershey Park was HEAVEN. I ended up buying fresh cherry twizzlers and a huge chocolate bar . . . it was a lot like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory :) Also had the best Thai food ever, at Bangkok Wok in Mechanicsburg, PA. I'm not kidding, I think it was the best food I had ever eaten. Dan and I had chicken Pad Thai, Satay with cucumber salad, and pineapple, raisin, shrimp rice . . . wow!
We are headed out to Portage, Indiana today - a 10 hour drive ahead. I will post more later.
