Mt. Hood.
FACTS:
Mount Hood, called Wy'east by the Multnomah tribe, is a stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc of northern Oregon. It was formed by a subduction zone and rests in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It is located about 50 miles (80 km) east-southeast of Portland, on the border between Clackamas and Hood River counties.
The exact height assigned to Mount Hood's snow-covered peak has varied over its history. Modern sources point to three different heights: 11,249 feet (3,429 m) based on the 1991 U.S. National Geodetic Survey,[1] 11,240 feet (3,426 m) based on a 1993 scientific expedition,[6] and 11,239 feet (3,426 m)[7] of slightly older origin. The peak is home to twelve glaciers.[8] It is the highest mountain in Oregon and the fourth-highest in the Cascade Range.[9] Mount Hood is considered the Oregon volcano most likely to erupt,[10] though based on its history, an explosive eruption is unlikely. Still, the odds of an eruption in the next 30 years are estimated at between 3 and 7 percent,[11] so the USGS characterizes it as "potentially active", but the mountain is informally considered dormant.[11]
" This is Dr. Larry Bogart, MD , Psychiatrist. Dr. Dan worked with him as a Psychiatric Therapist on his psych unit in the mid 90's. Dan often referred to him as, ' the Albert Schweitzer of ARH ' because Dr. Bogart also spent many years as a Doctor / Missionary to Africa. Dr. Bogart is still working actively at the age of 72. Dan says that he's never met a doctor that he respects any more than Dr. Bogart. " -- Dr. Dan
Dan wanted to add his introduction to Dr. Bogart, because as you can see he is one of his favorite people.
I agree with Dan that Dr. Bogart is one special man. Primarily because he has a genuine heart for Jesus and others. He has lived his life showing the love of God to those around him, often times as a psychiatrist in the prisons, he would show God's love to the most unreachable souls. Being in his gentle presence made me want to follow Jesus more closely and show God's love more passionately. The Holy Spirit touched me by his testimony and his kindness. Though our visit was short, I felt honored to have been in the presence of one who has so completely surrendered to our Lord.
