While in Tehachapi, the Holy Spirit placed a thought in my heart that we should give books to individuals who could really relate to Dan's story i.e. those who are homeless, on drugs, alcoholics, etc. If you have read Dan's story, you will find out that he experienced all of those things and God helped him. My thought was that his story may offer hope to others and point them to God through Jesus. I Googled "rescue mission + Flagstaff AZ" and "Project Jesus" appeared on my blackberry, so I called and Rev. Elizabeth Savage Johnson answered. She listened to my words, and invited us to join in the following day as Project Jesus was to feed over 100 folks. We went, Dan was hoping this was really the Holy Spirit calling us and not just my "youthful exuberance". When we arrived, it was like God giving His seal of approval, in that the first person I met was a Deaf Navajo man named, Ray who was so excited to have someone to sign with him. I knew that God had given us this opportunity so that we could grow and learn more about Him.
Think Jesus Project ministers to over 400 individuals in Flagstaff.

Volunteers come to donate and serve food. On this particular day, we had hotdogs, salad, chips, and dessert.

Below is a picture of the crowd . . . I am reminded, "And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."
I was moved by the compassion that the volunteers had towards the people
and I am assured that God IS Love and Jesus IS Compassion.
When we hurt, Jesus hurts.

I'd like to introduce you to my friend, Ray. He is Deaf. He is a Navajo from the Navajo reservation in Leupp, AZ. He signs ASL but lipreads Navajo. He told me about Jesus. Think Jesus Project had been feeding him not simply food, but the understanding of Jesus. He told me, "Jesus is up there, and down here too, He wanted to live in my heart, so I let him, my heart is His house." His name sign is, "Jesus".

Jesus Loves You !
In closing, Dr. Dan sat on the curb with some of the people and signed their books.
