Monterey, CA

Monterey, California is such a beautiful place . . . but not as beautiful as our friends who live there. We had the opportunity to spend some quality time with our friends, Larry and Judy (and their sweet dogs, Jackson & Sadie). Below is a picture of Larry Booker, he and Dan have been friends since 1975 (only 3 years before I was born).


The above picture is Judy, she is amazing and her love for animals is truly evident in her life, as she works to help place dogs into loving homes.
Larry took me and Dan to Whole Foods, and as most of you know, I love organic food, so I was in Heaven . . . I bought black bean and mango salsa, blue corn chips, and guacamole . . . yummy!

The picture below was taken at Pebble Beach . . . yes, there are pebbles (or as we say in WV, gravel) all over the shore. I wanted to put my feet in the Pacific, so as I attempted to barely wade in the cold water, the undertow caught my ankles and sucked me in . . . I was in shock and couldn't call for help because my body was suddenly so cold. However, I was able to get myself up out of the water and get out. Some men saw me from the shore and told me I was very lucky because the undertow is so strong there that it could have pulled me way out into the water. As I was walking, completely soaked, back to the car, I spotted this warning sign. It pays to pay attention to bright yellow warning signs!
